Creation of a Black Dining Table

When interior designer Belinda approached us at Lumber Furniture, we were thrilled to take on the challenge of creating a prestige custom design black dining table using American Oak for her clients, Sarah and Peter, who reside in the elegant suburb of Brighton.

This exquisite piece was to be stained black, boasting rounded corners with a bullnose edge. The timber base was to feature a concave shape, also stained black, with an elaborate ladder frame. The journey from concept to completion was a testament to our craftsmanship and dedication to excellence.

Design and Approval

Belinda provided us with a vision, and we translated that into a detailed CAD drawing and 3D image of the table. Once approved by Belinda, Sarah, and Peter, we named this table "Belize" and then began the meticulous process of production.

Crafting this frame required exceptional skill and attention to detail to match the design specifications precisely.

Craftsmanship in Action

The first step was creating the legs, ensuring they were not only visually striking but also structurally sound. Next, we focused on the table top, joining and sanding it to perfection. The shape of the table top was critical, requiring precision to achieve the desired curves. To ensure everything was on track, we invited the clients to inspect the progress.

With the legs and table top complete, our attention turned to the elaborate ladder frame.
