At Lumber Furniture, we recently had the pleasure of working on a truly exceptional piece.
We came across a rare and unique Blackbutt slab. This slab, a remarkable 3.3 meters in length and in one seamless piece, immediately captured our attention. We posted it on our social media pages, and it wasn’t long before Heidi reached out to us.
A Perfect Match for Heidi’s New Home
Heidi was in the midst of building her dream home and wanted a timber slab dining table that would perfectly complement the tones of her interiors.
The rich, warm hues of the Blackbutt slab were an ideal match. She chose our premium high-end Monaco powder-coated metal table base, designed to support the slab that sits centralised and doesn't interfere with seating.
The angled edges of the slab and the central positioning of the Monaco base created a stunning visual balance.
The Craftsmanship Behind the Beauty
Crafting Heidi’s table was no easy feat. Matt, one of our skilled craftsmen, dedicated countless hours to perfecting the slab.
The process was meticulous – sanding, applying resin to fill the natural voids, and then sanding again. Each step required patience and precision. Matt described this slab as particularly challenging due to its many voids, but the end result was nothing short of spectacular.
The finished piece exuded a sense of elegance and natural beauty that we knew would make a stunning statement in Heidi’s home.
